Activities In The Fall Season

Is it chillier outside? Here are things you can do no matter the season

Wine Tasting

All seasons are good for doing a tasting with Fábio at Algarve Wine Tours. He really knows his stuff, but keeps everything relaxed and easygoing, so it never feels too formal or touristy. You’ll get to try some great Portuguese and Algarve wines while hearing about the people, places and stories behind them. It’s a lovely way to spend an afternoon if you want to discover a bit more of the region and enjoy some good conversation along the way.

Buggy Tours

We’d definitely recommend Algarve Buggy Tours. You’ll head off the usual tourist paths and get out into the countryside, with plenty of dirt tracks, scenic views and a good bit of adventure. It is a different way to see the Algarve but you wills till have fun! It’s a great option if you want to mix some sightseeing with a little adrenaline. There are several buggy tour options, and we’ve linked one of them below.

Horseback Riding

If you’re looking for something a little different to do in the Algarve, beach horse riding in Vilamoura is a lovely experience. Riding along the sand with the coastline around you makes for a special way to see the area. You don’t have to be an experienced rider either, so it’s an easy way to enjoy the beach and the scenery, even if it’s your first time on a horse.

Indoor Aquashow Waterpark

If you’re visiting the Algarve with kids, Indoor Aquashow Park is a great option for a fun family day out. There are plenty of water attractions and slides to keep everyone entertained, and being indoors means you don’t have to worry about the weather. It’s an easy choice when you want a break from the beach but still want a day full of fun.

Vilamoura Golf

If you’re into golf, one of the best things about staying in Vilamoura is how close you are to some really great courses. The Old Course, along with Pinhal, Laguna and Millennium, is all just a few minutes from the houses, making it really easy to fit in a round without spending half the day driving. The Old Course was also named Portugal’s Best Golf Course in 2025, so there’s plenty of reason to bring your clubs along.
